Oregon Coast

We just got back from our family vacation to the Oregon Coast. This is the farthest we have ever been on a vacation. We took Brian's mom with us and we had a lot of fun! Our first night we stayed in the Wal-Mart parking lot in Mountain Home. We call this white trash camping. We got there about 11 o'clock at night and were gone by 9am. But what can we say, it was free.
The second night we camped at a lake called Suttle Lake just passed the town of The Sisters.

This picture is for Caleb.
This first morning that we were on the Coast we went to Devil's Punch Bowl and hiked inside it and around the tide pools. (Thanks for the advice Jay R. - we loved it)

We saw our first whale on the first morning we were there too. Bryce thought that was AWESOME!

This was Byrce's favorite part - playing in the ocean. I love this picture of Brian and Bryce in their jackets holding their swimsuits up.

Here are pictures of the sand dunes we saw.

This is Cape Perpetua.

We went to the Aquarium. We had never been to one before so we had a lot of fun there too.

The kids were excited to finally be able to fly a kite. We have no luck with kites at home.

We made it up to the cheese factory for cheese sandwhiches and ice cream.

We missed our turn in Portland on our way home and ended up in Washington!

Brian's mom only went with us to see the lighthouses. She turned into a kid in a candy shop at each lighthouse we went to. We had to drag her out of them. We ended up seeing 4 of them.

This last one we climbed over 100 stairs to the top of it. Ask Bryce how many. He counted them.

We had a lot of fun and it only rained on us on our drive out there and on the way back. We are now excited for the Crook Reunion!!
See you all there!
